The first telephone


On March 10,1876 Alexander Graham Bell shouted into a transmitter to his assistant in another room. ” Mr Watson,come here! I want you.” Watson heard the words from a receiver and ran down the hall to Bell’s Laboratory. This was the first telephone.



Alexander Graham Bell was a teacher from Edinburgh,Scotland. He was especially interested in deaf chilldren. When he moved to Boston,he started some experiments with elecricity. In 1876 he invented the telephone.

The Telephone has changed life for people all over the world. Today we can talk to people in other cities,in other countries.We can telephone from cars,from planes.Some telephones dont have a cord,and we can walk around with them as we talk to our friends.
